Male Liposuction

What was once an exclusive territory of the females has since been encroached by their male counterparts. We’re not only talking about make up on males or stay home daddies, we’re also talking about male liposuction here. According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), 12 percent of the liposuction procedures performed in the United States in 2005 was performed on male patients. In 2008, this figure rose to 16 percent as we see even more people undergoing liposuction.

Liposuction for men is commonly performed on a few areas. The top liposuction procedures targeted by men are:
·         Abdominal Liposuction for men
The abdominal area is where most of the fats are channelled to for men. The common grouse of a ‘spare tire’ or ‘pot belly’ from all that beer and chips has fuelled demand for male liposuction on the belly area. Women also face this problem but the males have it tougher because the fats are usually behind the muscle, unlike the women where the fats are usually in front of the muscle. This makes the removal of belly fat for males more complicated and tricky.
·         Love Handle Liposuction for men
Close to liposuction on belly for men, liposuction to get rid of love handles or flanks is also one of the most common procedures requested by the males. Although it is not a localized problem only the males would experience, studies have shown that the flank area for males is more resistant to dieting and exercise for the males.
·         Chest liposuction
Perhaps one of the procedures that only men opt for is chest liposuction or male breast reduction. Most women would be more than thrilled to be endowed with ample assets but this is obviously not the case for the males. Enlarged male breasts or gynecomastia, is an embarrassing medical condition that can be treated with chest liposuction for men. Another reason why the males have male breast is due to the excessive fat deposits under their chest.
·         Neck Liposuction
As males get older, neck fat gets more prominent and enlarged. This area is commonly neglected because it simply cannot be reached though exercising. Hence, as we grow older, the skin and muscle tissue of the lower face and neck can be especially prone to drooping, sagging skin and excess fat. The ‘double chin’ that is developed throughout the years would stay with the person and without liposuction, it would be difficult to eliminate.

I would be talking about where to find male liposuction soon so if you want to find out where to find cheap and affordable liposuction, remember to come back soon!

Where to find Cheap Liposuction in NYC

Even though there are many new techniques used to perform liposuction surgeries now that improves its safety levels, it is still important to find a reliable and trustworthy surgeon to perform your liposuction procedure. After all, the slightest mistake can cause lifetime scarring and even death in some instances.

To source for trustworthy and affordable surgeons, New York City is one place you can go to. NYC has one of the highest success rates in the east coast of US. Many of the surgeons there have been offering liposuction surgeries for face, body, arms, tummy and other parts of the body for a long time. Equipped with years of experience, many of the surgeons here are able to deliver effective results for patients. Most of the surgeons here use the latest technology for liposuction procedures and do not compromise on the after care of patients. Before plastic surgeons in New York City can practise, they have to go through stringent tests and checks before they are granted a permit. Therefore, you can be assured that liposuction surgery in New York City is safe and regulated by the government.

While the price of liposuction in NYC can vary from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars, you can be guaranteed good after service. Many of the plastic surgeons practise in hospitals or have their own standalone clinics.

Before you decide to go to any surgeon, look out for any testimonials and recommendations. The best is if the clinic is able to show liposuction before and after pictures and photos to show how successful that surgeon is. Although the surgeons here are mostly certified and know their trades, we should always be wary of rouge doctors who offer lousy services.

Liposuction vs liposculpture

I recently came across a letter in a magazine I was reading and noticed something that perhaps occurs to most people. In the letter, the writer, a 34 year old female who just gave birth to a pair of twins (congratulations by the way!) was seeking help on the fastest and most effective way to lose weight. In the letter, she included a few terms like liposuction, tummy tuck and liposculpture. The thing is, she seemed to be rather confused about these few terms and used them interchangeably. Well the truth is, they are probably 80% very similar resulting in the mix-up there. To clear the air, I’ll be explaining what the 20% difference is in this article.

Liposuction refers to the removing of fats deposit through a vacuum like suction tube. There are many types of liposuction procedures offered by surgeons including liposuction for eyes, liposuction for face, liposuction for thighs, liposuction for tummy and the list goes on. These various procedures target different areas of our body and what surgeons do is that they make an incision on that area and suck out the fats using various techniques. The overall effect that patients hope to achieve is a slimmer area with less fats.

Liposculpture comes under the umbrella of liposuction and refers to using the technique of liposuction to create a more defined and trim area. So if you achieved the 24 inch waist that you have always desired, then it would be considered a case of liposculpture. Liposculpture surgeries are more precise and attain what customer’s request. Of course, these requests should be within permissible boundaries of what can be achieved. Don’t expect to be able to achieve supermodel figure just by going under the knife. There are a lot of contributing factors that play a part in giving you that gorgeous figure.

Liposculpture is not an easy procedure, especially since most of the liposuction procedures now use the tumescent technique. This causes the tissues around the area to swell and might affect the precision of the operation. The overall form of that area can become distorted and tricky to operate on. In addition to that, fat lumps are prone to shifting and it can making suction very complicated.

To find cheap liposuction might not be an issue but to find a surgeon that offers effective and cheap liposculpture might be tricky. Search through the net and local directories for the prices and information of these surgeons. Alternatively, if you are willing to venture abroad, there are many places overseas that actually offer cheap liposuction. This is factoring in prices for accommodation, airfare and other costs associated with travelling. I will be talking about cheap liposuction in UK in my next post so follow up if you’re interested!
